Knight Architects has secured a position on a $140 million multiple-award contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to deliver general design and architect-engineering (A-E) services across the organization’s South Atlantic Division.
The contract is structured as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) vehicle and maintains a five-year ordering period. The opportunity was designated as a small business set-aside, with Knight Architects joining seven other firms that will compete for task orders.
Under the terms of the multiple-award contract, the selected firms will provide comprehensive planning, design, engineering, and technical services vital for various military construction and modernization efforts. Task orders issued will be negotiated as firm-fixed price and are primarily focused on the design phase of projects with a construction value at or below $5 million.
The scope of work encompasses a wide range of needs, covering both vertical and horizontal construction requirements. Vertical construction design includes new facilities such as barracks, dining facilities, administrative offices, equipment maintenance facilities, laboratories, and child development centers. Horizontal construction involves critical infrastructure, including airfields, roads, and firing ranges.
The contract also requires supporting professional services, such as master planning, value engineering assessments, specialized studies, commissioning, and cost estimating. All design deliverables must utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and strictly adhere to the standards outlined in the Savannah District design manual and applicable USACE guidelines.
Projects are slated for execution at key military installations falling under the Savannah District’s area of responsibility. These locations include: Fort Liberty, Fort Eisenhower, Fort Jackson, Fort Stewart, Fort Moore, Gillem Enclave, Moody Air Force Base, Hunter Army Airfield (AAF), Seymour Johnson Air Force Base (AFB), and Robins Air Force Base (AFB).
The seven other small businesses awarded spots on the contract are:
- JP Harvey – Stantec Joint Venture
 - CEMS Engineering
 - Blair Remy Merrick MP Joint Venture
 - Sherlock, Smith & Adams
 - Zapata Group
 - GMHill Baker JV
 - Gurri Matute Cromwell JV
