General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) announced significant executive changes, promoting long-time leaders Paul Nedzbala and Jylinda Johnson to pivotal roles. This strategic restructuring reinforces the company’s business operations and directly aims to accelerate growth and foster innovation across the federal technology landscape.
Effective January 1, 2026, Nedzbala transitions into the role of Chief Business Officer for the enterprise business office. He will spearhead corporate development strategies designed to enhance how GDIT delivers cutting-edge technology services to government agencies. A veteran of the sector, Nedzbala previously spent seven years with GDIT and holds deep experience from his 18-year tenure at SRA International and executive positions at Constella Group.
Succeeding Nedzbala is Jylinda Johnson, who steps up as Senior Vice President of Federal Civilian, also effective January 1, 2026. Johnson will now command the strategic direction, growth planning, and operational performance for the teams delivering IT and professional services to the company’s federal civilian clients. Johnson also brings seven years of experience at GDIT, most recently serving as Sector Vice President and General Manager. Her background includes extensive time at SRA and over a decade with SAIC.
GDIT President Amy Gilliland welcomed the promotions, highlighting the new energy and perspectives the two leaders bring as the firm works to strengthen its organization and deliver long-term value to its customers.

Tips for Your Own GovCon Career Success:
- Master the Mission: Johnson and Nedzbala both spent years building expertise across various federal sectors (Civilian, Health, Defense). Your career success depends on deeply understanding your customer’s mission and aligning your technical skills directly with their operational challenges, not just fulfilling a contract requirement.
 - Seek Diverse Experience: Both executives moved between major GovCon firms (SAIC, SRA, GDIT). Don’t fear lateral moves or new challenges that expose you to different corporate cultures, client bases, and technical stacks. This breadth of experience makes you indispensable.
 - Think “Enterprise”: Nedzbala’s new role focuses on enterprise strategy. As you advance, shift your focus from simply executing tasks to understanding how your team’s work impacts the entire company’s growth trajectory, financial health, and long-term innovation goals.
