Antenna Research Associates (ARA) appointed aerospace and defense industry veteran Adil Karim as Chief Technology Officer. Karim immediately directs the company’s strategic technology initiatives and leverages his extensive technical leadership and business development expertise to strengthen ARA’s complex defense systems offerings.
Karim brings more than two decades of experience across both the defense and private sectors to this crucial role at Antenna Research Associates (ARA). Before joining ARA, Karim spent over four years at Northrop Grumman.
There, he most recently served as Vice President of Strategy and Mission Solutions, overseeing critical business development, investment strategy, and mission analysis across three business units.
Karim also held key positions as VP of Growth and Mission Solutions and Director of Capability Integration during his tenure with the aerospace giant.
Karim also significantly contributed to the government sector. He previously served as Chief Engineer for Architecture Initiatives within the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics office at the Department of the Air Force and acted as Science and Technology Advisor to the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence.
Further bolstering his technical credentials, Karim spent nearly a decade at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. At APL, he led projects focusing on communications, radar, electronic warfare, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, and managed programs across various sectors.
Earlier in his career, Karim held roles as an optical scientist and program manager at L3 Technologies, a senior business development engineer at Source Photonics, and a test engineer at Agility Communications.
