BAE Systems officially appointed Brad Pelachyk as its Senior Vice President and Chief Global Supply Chain Officer (CGSO), effective December 20. In this critical executive role, Pelachyk will lead the defense contractor’s expansive global procurement and supply chain organization. He accepts the vital challenge of ensuring supply chain resilience and on-time delivery for both domestic and international programs, a primary focus area for the defense contracting industry as it navigates complex global logistics.
CEO Tom Arseneault expressed confidence in the move, highlighting Pelachyk’s leadership and expertise, which will position the supply chain team to continue advancing the growth and success of the entire business. Pelachyk succeeds Ann Ackerson, who is retiring.
Defining a Critical Mission
Pelachyk steps into a leadership position that holds direct responsibility for the company’s operational foundation. He will guide the entire supply chain council, defining strategy for sourcing and delivering essential components across BAE Systems’ global operations.
This role demands that he proactively manages risk mitigation, guarantees efficient procurement performance, and champions operational efficiency through modern, digital initiatives. His success in the role directly influences the company’s ability to execute on high-stakes government contracts and deliver critical national security capabilities precisely when clients require them.
Leveraging Decades of Expertise
Bringing more than 30 years of extensive experience in procurement and supply chain leadership to the senior leadership team, Pelachyk offers profound insights into complex logistics management. Before this promotion, he served as Vice President of Supply Chain at BAE Systems, where he previously oversaw risk mitigation efforts, streamlined procurement performance, and implemented operational and digital initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency.
Earlier in his career, he developed and led procurement strategies during his seven-year tenure as Vice President of Procurement for Thales, following more than 14 years with the FIAT Group. This breadth of experience across different industries prepares him well to manage the intricate global networks required to maintain robust supply chain resilience for a major defense prime contractor.
