U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) actively prepares for a significant recompete in the government contracting sphere, planning to issue a solicitation in early fiscal year 2026. This essential contract, valued at over $100 million, covers the critical configuration and management of up to ten Airbus H125 Light Enforcement Helicopters and the supply of associated equipment.
The Department of Homeland Security expects to award the firm fixed-price contract by the end of FY2026, with the period of performance running through April 2028. Work will take place in Columbus, Mississippi. AMO plans to compete the acquisition through the General Services Administration Schedule under a small business program, utilizing the eBuy platform.
To ensure complete fleet standardization and interoperability, CBP designates the procurement activity as a “brand name only” requirement, which restricts offers to the specific brand. Davenport Aviation currently serves as the incumbent contractor.
The Airbus H125 remains indispensable to AMO’s aerial patrol and surveillance missions. This rotary-wing aircraft supports crucial border security and law enforcement operations with a two-person crew, providing high-tech capabilities. These short-range, turbine-powered helicopters come equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors, digital mapping, and video downlink capabilities, significantly enhancing situational awareness and officer safety during high-risk missions for CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection).
