The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) awarded Enabled Intelligence a significant single-award contract, valued at up to $708 million over a seven-year period. The SEQUOIA contract establishes the company as the primary provider of data labeling-as-a-service for the agency’s artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives. This crucial effort focuses on Geospatial Data Labeling, representing the NGA’s largest award to date for AI data training capabilities. Enabled Intelligence will execute the work across multiple NGA directorates, supporting mission requirements for the broader Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community.
Fueling High-Stakes AI Missions
Enabled Intelligence will deliver precise, unbiased data annotation to directly fuel computer vision models used in the most critical GEOINT missions. This work directly supports key agency efforts, including the NGA’s flagship Maven program, which applies AI capabilities to enhance intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) sensors and platforms.
The resulting high-quality labeled data will enable AI systems to perform automated tasks swiftly, including object detection, tracking, classification, and sophisticated pattern analysis. The contract also extends support to natural language processing and analytic models necessary for automating GEOINT business processes.
Leveraging Specialized Workforce Expertise
A unique strength of the SEQUOIA award recipient lies in its workforce model. Enabled Intelligence employs a majority-disabled workforce, including neurodivergent individuals. This focus on inclusive hiring leverages natural strengths in areas like intense focus, visual-spatial recognition, and pattern identification, allowing the company to achieve exceptional accuracy rates in high-stakes, technical environments.
The company partners with industry leaders, including BAE Systems and Vantor, to successfully meet the demanding requirements of the massive Geospatial Data Labeling program. The contract reinforces the critical role that specialized data expertise plays in maintaining a strategic advantage for U.S. national security.
