Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) secured a $111 million contract modification from Space Systems Command (SSC), significantly expanding its role in the MTSI SBI modification effort for space-based interceptors. This action increased the total value of MTSI’s systems engineering, integration, and testing contract to $226.9 million. The company will perform this crucial work in Huntsville, Alabama, extending the period of performance through January 10, 2030.
Funding and Date Correction
The correction addresses misstated information in the original contract notice. The U.S. Air Force issued the clarification, noting the initial notification had misstated both the funding profile and the award date. Officials confirmed that the MTSI SBI modification utilizes Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) funds across fiscal years 2025 through 2029, not solely FY 2025 funds as first reported.
Furthermore, the correct award date reflects October 14, superseding the originally cited date of October 7. This extension builds on MTSI’s earlier Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award, a five-year, $99.9 million sole-source contract.
