Cubic Defense has named Tammy Schmidt Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Training Solutions (ATS), leveraging her extensive two decades of industry experience to drive strategic growth.
Schmidt now directs the ATS division, focusing on enhancing the company’s critical training portfolio for the defense sector and solidifying its leadership in integrated training technologies. Her appointment emphasizes Cubic Defense’s commitment to innovation in readiness solutions.
Driving Next-Generation Air Combat Readiness
Schmidt assumes executive responsibility for guiding the evolution of Cubic Defense’s key air combat training programs. Her mandate involves spearheading the development of highly advanced systems that accurately replicate true operational environments for military aviators.
The company relies on her leadership to ensure its training solutions meet the demanding requirements of modern warfare. This focus guarantees that warfighters receive the most realistic and effective preparation possible, maintaining a decisive edge against complex, near-peer adversaries globally.
The ATS division remains instrumental in delivering these immersive, data-driven, and complex training capabilities to the Department of Defense and international customers.
A Proven Leader in Global Defense and Training
Schmidt brings a rich history of executive and operational leadership to her new role, demonstrating a deep understanding of the defense landscape. Most recently, she served as Director of Operations at Technica, managing large-scale defense operations.
Prior to that, she spent over six years making substantial contributions at Valiant Integrated Services, holding pivotal positions including General Manager and Senior Vice President of Global Training and Readiness, and Program Director for critical training initiatives.
Furthermore, Schmidt possesses significant institutional knowledge of Cubic’s strategy, having spent a decade earlier in her career as a Senior Program Manager at the former Cubic Global Defense.
That division later combined with Cubic Mission Solutions to form the current Cubic Defense segment in 2020. Her career foundations include serving as a Senior Training Analyst at Omega Training Group and a Research Fellow with the U.S. Army Research Institute—roles that established her proficiency in defense requirements and organizational psychology.
She holds a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Austin Peay State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Columbus State University.
Schmidt’s proven track record in operations, program management, and global readiness positions her as a strategic asset as Cubic Defense accelerates its delivery of premier integrated training technology solutions.
